Though it's been nearly a month since Waka Flocka Flame called out Wiz Khalifa for having "no swag" and "hyp[ing] their way to the top," Wiz Khalifa has remained publicly silent. However, Snoop Dogg recently came to his Mac and Devin Go to High School partner-in-rhyme's defense. "I'ma holla at Waka Flocka," said Snoop on Big Boy's Neighborhood radio show. "That's where big Uncle Snoop come in at, 'cause we ain't about that negativity and none of that beef. We too old for that." "I'ma snatch him up by the collar and say, 'Look here, partna. You got somethin' to say to Wiz, get at him personally.' We peaceful. We on nothing but peace right now." "This is my guy right here," added Snoop. "I love Wiz 'cause he got the right spirit that Hip Hop needs. Too much negativity in the industry that always overwhelms his kind of spirit, and I'm here to let people know that this is the right kind of spirit [.]" The Joint (Urban Talk Radio)

In hip hop news
Grammy-winning rapper Lil Wayne has challenged producers to bring their A-game by revealing his displeasure in the range of production currently resting on his forthcoming Tha Carter IV album.
While not name-dropping any particular hitmaker, Weezy said producers need to step their beats up.
"These n*ggas' beats been sucking," Wayne explained in an interview. "I'm putting it out there: You producing? What y'all doing? Get right, man. Step it up. This is coming from a rapper. One of the best rappers. I ain't saying I'm the best no more, because these n*ggas is too good these days. I got old. But d*mn, y'all n*ggas' beats is terrible! [Chad Ochocinco walks into the room] These n*ggas' beats sound like Ochocino made them." (XXL Magazine)
Despite Weezy's claims, Young Money star Nicki Minaj previously talked to radio host Tim Westwood about the project's superior production.
"Of course, if Wayne would have me, yes," Minaj told Tim Westwood when asked if she will appear on Tha Carter IV. "I think that's going to be very anticipated. I think it's already being anticipated. His beat selection alone is going to friggin' kill. I've already heard a couple of the beats, in fact, the other day, I went to tell this producer, 'Yo, hold that beat for me.' And he said, Wayne already took it. And it hurt my heart, I was like, 'Errr'. But yeah, he's snatching them up. He's ready. I cannot wait. I'm just, I'm proud of him. I'm super proud of him." ("Tim Westwood TV")
Young Money's Gudda Gudda recently spoke to SOHH about the LP living up to 2008's Tha Carter III.
"I think it's going to be big and I'm not just saying that because he's my homie," Gudda Gudda told SOHH when asked about the delayed project. "I'm just being honest. I think it's going to be big and it can match up to what Tha Carter III did. The expectations are really big and it's going to be really big for hip-hop when it finally comes out." (SOHH)
As of now, the project will not drop until next month
DMX's Alleged Fiancee Bites Back, "I'm Not A Liar"
Weeks after incarcerated rapper DMX denied rumors about having a fiancee, girlfriend Yadira Borrego has barked back and defended her image.
Borrego explained her connection to X and loyalty to their relationship.
"Me and X have been together for a total of seven years. Last year in July I left because me and him had to take a break. He texted me, 'I'm going away for 30 days and I want to see you and my kids.' I was gone from July to November, so I came back November 16th and November 18th he went to jail. That's when he went to prison. So I stayed here in Phoenix, I was holding the house down and his stuff, his cars, his dogs, everything. In the process of us talking we had a lot of issues, because X was dealing with a lot of women and we just really had to take a break." (VIBE)
Promising she is not a liar, the model also said X would return to her following his release from jail this month.
"The reason why I decided to speak was not to get back at him. He was speaking about what was going with himself right now. He said it to someone and people don't understand what's between me and him. All I can say is wait and see and see how everything goes. I'm not a liar, I don't have to make something up. X knows what is and I know what it is and as long as we both know what it is I don't care what anybody gotta say. This is home, his clothes are here, this is where he's coming when he gets out prison. People will see in the near future." (VIBE)
Prior to X denying the engagement claims, Borrego talked about doing a reality show with the rapper last month.
Another new twist is his interest in his own reality TV show with fiancé Yadira Borrego. According to an official press release, the working title of the show is "X-tended Family" and while the show is only conceptual thus far, it will reportedly show a side to DMX that the world has never seen... the softer side. "He is an amazing father and man. The media has never shown who he really is." (Hip Hop Wired)
X was sentenced to a year behind bars in an Arizona courtroom around mid-December.
DMX, who was arrested for a probation violation in Arizona last month, was sentenced to a year in prison on the charge this morning -- his sixth stint behind bars in the state. The MC said late last month that a sip of alcohol during one of his concerts led to his arrest on multiple charges, including probation violation, failure to submit to drug testing and several drug charges.
